About the Carters

 Hi!

We are the Carter Clan. Establish March of 2015.

The cuttie in the middle is Cassie, she is our sweet princess. She is a golden retriever, and as of this year, she will be nine.

My name is McKayla and I am the short haired chick in the striped shirt. My husband Quinn is the sexy guy in the flannel shirt.

We are from Southern Utah, but have recently relocated to Ogden, Utah, where I work as a high school art teacher and Quinn works for Enterprise Rent-a-car.

We met December of 2013, and have been best friends ever sense. Fun fact, Quinn is 10 years older then me, and you would never guess it. Our story is definitely unusual, but we like it that way, because we both, are a bit unusual.

I grew up in Orem, Utah, and when I was twelve, my family moved to St. George, Utah. It wasn't under the best of circumstances. My parents, shortly after the move, divorced and my life completely changed. I learned a lot about myself, my siblings, my mother and how cruel life could be. My mother worked her butt off making sure we had all that we needed, which is very difficult to do as a single mother. (Props to single parents, you are truly super heroes!)

I was lucky enough to attend Tuacahn High School for the Performing Arts, which is where my life took a turn for the better. It was there that I truly found my passion for art and knew what I wanted to do with my future. I attended Dixie State University after high school, lived at home as a college student, but it wasn't for free. I helped financially however I could, and insisted I do so. I learned the value of a dollar very quickly in high school and always appreciated all the hard work my mother did for us. She never demanded the help, but I felt happy to contribute.

About my second year of college I was switching jobs and found a donut shop that would be opening up soon. I had worked in food before, and figured it was easier and less stressful then the sales job I was currently working. So I took the leap and applied. Got the job and that was that. Little did I know this little donut shop would open a door to my forever partner. The son of the owners of the shop and I, became friends. He had a friend who was single and he thought we'd have fun together. I had gotten out of a four year relationship in high school and wasn't particularly looking for a relationship, but thought a date would be harmless... so I said "yeah sure, why not?"

That's when Quinn entered my life. From the moment I met him, I was completely twitterpated. He was so sweet, and caring, and boy was he smart. Like holy cow he is so stinking smart! The first night we spent time together we talked for almost 4 hours straight. The only reason we stopped was because it was getting to late. We haven't stopped talking sense.
